Our history
The beginnings of the Evangelical Church - Shtip date back to the late 1980s as part of the Evangelical movement in the former Yugoslavia. The married couple Budimir and Asterija Jakić moved from Belgrade and began missionary work. They bought a house and renovated it for the needs of the church. At first, the church began with home communities. The first official service was held on April 28, 1991. Since then, until today, the Evangelical Church - Shtip is a place where many people find comfort, healing and salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Evangelical Church - Shtip is one of the two churches, along with the Evangelical Church - Skopje, from which the evangelical movement in Macedonia began, which later grew into the Evangelical Church in Macedonia with more than 30 churches and communities throughout the country. From the Evangelical Church - Shtip, many pastors and Christian ministers later came out who today serve and work in evangelical churches in various cities in Macedonia and beyond.
