The history of ETIK

ETIK is a theological institute that primarily deals with the education of new theological personnel. ETIK began its work in 2016, first as a two-year higher theological school, and from 2022 with a new four-year program in theology, which is carried out on the principle of mentored part-time studies.

Our lecturers

Director of ETIK is Dr. Sasho Georgievski.

The mentoring, teaching and professorial staff of ETIK includes 15 professors, assistants and demonstrators, of which 3 have doctors, 6 masters and 6 graduate theologians with many years of active experience in pastoral ministry.

Way of studying

Part-time studies in theology are carried out in active cooperation with all mentors assigned to different subjects in the program.

First year

9 subjects and one written assignment

1. Your new life; 2. Your Bible; 3. A book about Jesus; 4. About the church; 5. Evangelism; 6. Biblical ethics; 7. When to pray; 8. How to study the Bible; 9. Your friend and helper; 10. Written work – written sermon.

Second year

9 subjects and one written assignment

11. Christian Worship; 12. Christian Workers; 13. Marriage and Family; 14. God's Plan and Your Choice; 15. The Gospel of John; 16. What Do We Believe?; 17. What Do Churches Do?; 18. Ministry of Teaching; 19. Christian Community; 20. Book Summary (Christian Classics).

Third year

9 courses and 2 seminars

21. Basic Christian Doctrines; 22. Introduction to the Old Testament; 23. Introduction to the New Testament; 24. Evangelization; 25. Church History I; 26. Old Testament Exegesis and Hermeneutics; 27. New Testament Exegesis and Hermeneutics 2; 28. Founding New Churches; 29. World Religions; 30. Seminar Paper I; 31. Seminar Paper II.

Fourth year

9 courses, 2 seminar courses and a diploma course

32. Church History II; 33. Mission; 34. Systematic Theology; 35. Biblical Theology; 36. Pastoralism; 37. Homiletics; 38. Christian Ethics; 39. Apologetics; 40. Philosophy of Religion; 41. Seminar Paper III; 42. Seminar Paper IV; 43. Diploma Thesis.

Enrollment requirements

1. Recommendation from a church pastor; 2. Personal testimony and motivation letter; 3. Completed secondary education (four-year or possibly three-year with additional completed seminars, courses or practical experiences in the ministry).
